Nearly four and a half months following the previous coach's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, successor the German coach faced the media at Rangers' stadium for the initial occasion.

The scale of the task facing him is widely recognized, considering his predecessor's chaotic and unsuccessful four-month tenure.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday manager was joined by chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized pair of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

However, what precisely did we learn from the young German's first public appearance as the club's manager?

The Manager's Primary Focus - Winning is Everything

One thing emerged clearly from Rohl's initial presentation before the Scottish media - he understands the need to secure victories, and achieve this rapidly.

His predecessor Russell Martin lasted only 17 matches and four months as manager, so the question emerged about how long Rohl believes is reasonable to transform the struggling squad.

While skillfully avoiding a direct answer that might create later expectations, the coach's message was very evident.

"With hope very quickly," he said. "This is essential.
"In this business you have not much opportunity. One can talk about long-term vision but we know it concerns the short-term and that period is about winning games. This is my requirement.
"One thing is also obvious - I need every squad member to comprehend our intended to perform. I come back to my primary message: victory comes first, entertaining football and it's together. If you follow this sequence, I'm convinced that I'll stay for years at the club."

Expectations are Standard

Danny Rohl press conference

The previous manager needed a police escort to leave the Falkirk Stadium after his last game in charge.

We've seen how hostile environments can turn at football clubs when performances are poor. Demonstrations have nearly become an expected part of the matchday atmosphere on both sides of Glasgow currently.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the question asked about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would enable him to cope, let alone excel, in one of the most pressurized positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion expectations in this business is normal," he commented. "You must learn that very quickly.
"I believe some people might mention my age but I have been 16 years in this career. I had an excellent opportunity to work with Bayern Munich and serve as just the assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to manage a team and the demands involved.
"You begin winning games and then certain people will say you need to play attractive football. That's the next phase but that's exactly my intention. I relish that challenge and I look forward about what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Explains Chermiti Signing & Hiring His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were numerous questions from journalists for Thelwell.

Much discussion has concerned the hiring of his son as head of recruitment, with fans unconvinced about his credentials for the position.

However, he defended and explained the choice to recruit his son to Ibrox.

"It remains uncomfortable to listen and optically I think we all agreed when we made this decision to hire Robbie that he would be viewed negatively," Thelwell said.
"The truth of the situation is that we aim to bring the top players here.
"My perspective on his professional path and situation is he didn't need family help in football.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as head scout, he then moved to Norwich City as scouting chief and then was elevated to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our hiring him, multiple top division clubs sought to sign him. What we did from the beginning of the process was consult with the CEO, the chairman and deputy chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I remained highly open and I think he likely underwent a stricter process than anybody else who's employed by this football club.
"What I do know is that he'll labor 25/8 to be successful for Rangers and I anticipate seeing him proving that he'll become a valuable employee for the club."

Thelwell also supported the acquisition of forward Youssef Chermiti, who arrived at the club for a reported initial fee of eight million pounds, having failed to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

The sporting director who transferred the Portugal young international to Merseyside from Sporting Lisbon - again for significant money in a £15m deal.

He was asked if he supports his expensive purchase, who hasn't yet score in seven matches for Rangers.

"Yes, completely," Thelwell answered. "I think Youssef Chermiti represents who's possesses great ability.
"I haven't questioned him whatsoever. Similarly, I believe the manager will help to maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"It's very early days for him, he remains young talent and naturally with young talents they sometimes require patience.
"But I'm certain throughout of his time at the club he's going to prove that he is very, very good player."

Stewart Understands Fan Frustration and Anger

The chief executive was facing firing line, considering the vitriol that has been aimed at him by certain club fans.

There was even a sign in the stadium during the last tie with United inviting him - and the sporting director - to depart before being removed for him.

Similar to the football director, Stewart didn't evade the topic.

"I completely appreciate the disappointment and hurt that the supporters are feeling because performances recently haven't met good enough and no one is satisfied with those," he said.
"The hurt and frustration they feel is mirrored inside the leadership.
"Also understand that there has to be a channel for those frustrations and in my role, I'm responsible.
"I'm a focal point for such issues and my role as a
